Close Account

How to close your account
Account deletion is handled by our support team rather than by a button, so that a request to erase an account is always made by a person who means it.
Open a support ticket asking us to close your account. Use the email address the account is registered to.
We will confirm the request before doing anything, because deletion cannot be undone.
What happens when we do
Your bots are deleted first, then your account and the data attached to it. This runs as a background job, so it is not instantaneous, but it does not need you to stay signed in.
Deleted with the account:
Bots, and the positions, orders and settings belonging to them
Broker connections and their credentials
Backtests, and your backtest preferences and discounts
Daily account balances and your sign-in history
Notification settings, and any mobile devices registered for push
Community content: your profile, posts, threads, polls, reactions, saves, follows, groups you own, published strategies and track records
Support tickets, their messages, and any files attached to them
Payment methods, webhooks, and your notifications
Your subscription
If you have a live subscription, we cancel it at PayPal before the account is removed. That ordering is deliberate: an account that disappeared with a live subscription behind it would leave PayPal billing someone who can no longer see or cancel it.
You may want to cancel yourself first and confirm it, if you would rather not rely on us doing it.
What is not deleted
Anonymised website analytics. Records of how the site was used are stripped of anything identifying you rather than removed outright. What remains cannot be traced back to you.
Records we are required to keep. Some billing and transaction records are retained where law or our payment processor requires it. These are not used to contact you and are not part of your account.
If you need detail on what is retained and for how long, ask in your deletion ticket and we will answer specifically.
Before you close your account
Closing your account is permanent. There is no recovery, no grace period, and no export afterwards.
Worth doing first, if any of it matters to you:
Export any backtest results you want to keep. They go with the account.
Note any bot configurations you might rebuild later. They are not recoverable.
Close open positions, or move them. Closing your account removes the bots that manage them. It does not close positions at your broker, and it does not touch your brokerage account.
Deleting the app is not deleting your account
Removing the Whispertrades app from your phone signs that device out and stops its notifications. Your account, your bots and your data are untouched, and you can sign in again on any device.
To erase the account itself, open a ticket as above.
